Hi
Great Student Journeys are non-stop relay races
Today's tips will help your
Teamsbetter utilise your
Stages to improve your recruitment performance, meaning more of your prospects
will enrol.
1. Using Stages to define the journey
Stages describe where each potential student (prospect) is - on their student
recruitment journey with you. For example, your journey might use these typical
stages:
Prospects will travel along this journey from '1 - Enquiry' to '6 - Enrolled'.
Some will inevitably drop into the '0 - Not interested' stage along the
way.
Giving prospects a stage allows you to instantly recognise where each one is on
the Student Recruitment Journey. It also means you can send personalised communications
that better represent where they are on their journey. Communications with '1 - Enquiry' are
completely different from communications with '5 - Offer-holder'. You really
don't want to invest time in communicating with those who are '0 - Not interested'.
Personalised communications make prospective students more engaged with your University,
making them more likely to want to study with you.
2. Assigning Stages to your Teams
In Student CRM you can assign your teams responsibility for stages:
3. It's a relay race
It is likely you already have a Marketing Team, a Recruitment Team, and an Admissions
Team. Each of these teams will have their own responsibilities that help the communal
goal of getting a prospect to enrol.
These are the runners in your relay race:
Your Marketing Team sprints from the line as the starting pistol fires, using
social media and magic to generate fresh leads every day - these go into your CRM
as '1 - Enquiry'.
Marketing passes the baton to the next runner...
Your Recruitment Team helps each Prospect to see value in your university and
to experience online and on-campus events, often engaging in 1-2-1 comms, encouraging
them to apply, moving them from '1 - Enquiry' to '2 - Engaged' and
then onto '3 - Intends to apply'.
Recruitment passes the baton to the final runner...
Your Admissions Team now works their magic to support applicants through to enrolment.
Using your CRM, they know everything about where each applicant has come from and
can use that information to help the applicant to enrol on the right course. They
move applicants from '4 - Applied' to '5 - Offer-holder' and finally '6 - Enrolled'.
And the race is won.
